Drama is very much an interactive ‘hands-on’ subject, which provides pupils with a great deal of fun and enjoyment. As well as being ideal for outgoing children who are more natural performers, drama can also help children who are less confident to find a creative outlet for their talents.

Drama lessons at Sandye Place take place in a less formal ‘workshop’ style, where pupils are given the opportunity to become more confident speakers, to learn how to memorise more efficiently, to interact with each other positively and simply to learn about acting.  These are taught through a variety of techniques such as role play, improvisation, mime and the study/interpretation of scenes from plays.

Pupils are also taught how to positively reflect on their own performance and that of others, through self- and peer-assessment and written evaluations.
