Our curriculum is based on a four year plan which provides a progressive programme of study in line with the National Curriculum subjects and requirements.
Social and emotional aspects of learning, rights and values (SRV)underpin everything we do at the Academy. All lessons contain a SRV which are woven into the learning to ensure we are educating our young people to become caring and considerate members of the community.
Curriculum continuity is ensured for all pupils by the close working relationships with our Lower Schools and the regular subject liaison meetings with Upper Schools.
Areas of the curriculum are the responsibility of subject specialists. Curriculum co-ordinators monitor their subject closely to ensure quality by teachers and pupils.
By close attention to children's individual needs, each pupil is helped to progress at their own level, including the most able and those with specific learning difficulties.
The National Curriculum for our age stipulates a broad and balanced programme of learning activities to be delivered in the form of three core subjects and ten foundation subjects.
Parents can find out more about the curriculum by contacting the Academy.
